“From Jesus’ fullness we have all received grace upon grace.”
Stewardship Season Mission Moment #1 – Chair Bob Ansheles on October 11
For more than 50 years the members of Orchard Ridge United Church of Christ have used this time of year for our stewardship campaign to raise funds for the operation of the church. Our campaign is not a sales pitch or a big rally. Rather it is an opportunity to reflect on Orchard Ridge UCC, its mission and its people. We take the time to prayerfully consider how we can support the church’s ongoing work for each other, our neighborhood and the greater community.
Our accomplishments here speak not just to our progress but to our blessings as well. It is the reason that John 1:16 was chosen for this year’s stewardship theme: “From Jesus’ fullness we have all received grace upon grace.”
During the coming weeks you will read and hear Mission Moments from other members of our congregation about our church and what it means to their lives. Also, in the mail you will receive a pledge card and a letter with details of our campaign. On Sunday, November 8 during worship we, as a congregation, will place our pledge cards on this altar.
If you have questions about the stewardship campaign you can reach out to Ken Syke or me.
And please join me in thanking Deb Josephs and Debbie Bauerkemper for their help with the graphics, mailings and all the other organization that is so necessary to make this project a success.
